Rain and Weather-Related Cancellations
The Island Kitchen prioritizes the safety of all players. If rain or adverse weather conditions make the court unsafe or unplayable, the following policy applies.
A. Rain Before the Reservation
If it rains before the scheduled reservation and the court is deemed unsafe or unplayable by The Island Kitchen:
- Customers may choose to reschedule their booking to another available date and time at no additional court-booking charge.
- If rescheduling is not possible or suitable, customers may request a refund for the affected booking.
- The Island Kitchen will notify affected customers as soon as reasonably possible.
B. Rain During the Reservation
If rain begins after the playing session has started:
- Play must stop immediately if the court becomes wet or unsafe.
- If less than 50% of the reserved playing time has been used, customers may choose to reschedule the affected session or request a refund for the booking.
- If 50% or more of the reserved playing time has been used, no refund will ordinarily be provided.
- The Island Kitchen may make reasonable exceptions depending on the severity of the weather and the circumstances.
C. Light Rain or Temporary Weather Interruptions
Light rain does not automatically qualify a reservation for a refund or rescheduling. The Island Kitchen will assess the court conditions and determine whether play can safely continue.
If play is temporarily suspended because of rain, the unused playing time may be accommodated through an extension or rescheduling, subject to court availability and operational requirements.
D. Court Safety After Rain
Players must not use a wet, slippery, or otherwise unsafe court. The Island Kitchen reserves the right to suspend or cancel play until the court is safe for use.
Other Unforeseen Circumstances
If The Island Kitchen must cancel a reservation because of facility maintenance, unexpected operational issues, or other circumstances that prevent the court from being used, affected customers will be offered rescheduling or an appropriate refund.
Management's Right to Suspend Play
The Island Kitchen reserves the right to suspend or stop play whenever weather, court conditions, or other safety concerns make continued play unsafe.
The safety of our customers, staff, and visitors remains our priority.
Thank You for Your Understanding
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding when weather conditions affect your reservation. Our goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and fair pickleball experience for everyone at The Island Kitchen.
